Without an environmental clearance, the ‘Chita Mills’ were set up at Sherpur, Bogra, causing severe noise and air pollution, jeopardising the normal life of the local populace and adversely affecting the children, women and the elderly in particular.

The High Court issued a Rule Nisi upon the respondents to show cause as to why the failure in preventing the setting up and operation of M/S Lition Jewel Traders, M/S Hossain Trader sand M/S Abdul Mannan Traders should not be declared to be without lawful authority, and why the respondents should not be directed to shut down those Mills.
