The ‘Boral’ river in the Rajshahi Division has significant importance to supplying water to many canals and beels. Due to unlawful encroachments and infrastructure, it is losing its flow, and causing miseries to local people and environment.

The High Court issued a Rule Nisi to show cause as to why the respondents should not be directed to restore and protect the ‘Boral’ river by demarcatingit according to the CS map, and why they should not be directed to ensure the required environmental flow of the river.
